11/11/04 From Donald Scott, Denver Colorado:

Dear Jd,
I currently live in Denver, though I was born in Bangor Maine. My family came to New England in 1890 from Canada where Edward and Anne arrived from Scotland and lived among other Scotts who had settled there from Alnwick and Queensbury. Eventually they would move into the Americas.
I was just told of my family heritage last week. I was given a family journal which dates to the early 1700's which I am supposed to maintain and hand to my son. I was also given possesion of my families birth , immigration, and census documents.
This has all come as news to me as my father never mentioned his family. The most I was ever told was that we come from metal tradesman and he learned to smith from his father which learned from his and so on. Now I am in Colorado learning as well.
The journal has a host of mail and plate patterns and shows Scotts smithing armor as far back as 1300. Amo was stamped into armor for "The Union of Crowns" in 1603. It was also Anne Scotts relatives who made the Armor for her marraige to James II who was taking the Scott name instead of the Crofts name of his illegitimate father.
I hope one day to restore the AMO armor smith line.
I was very impressed with your website and hope to attend a Clan meeting one day. Are there other websites I should look at ?
Untill then I will keep reading the posts and trying to get to know my fellow American Scotts.
A Bellandaine and Amo,
Donald Lawrence Scott

10/10/05 Donald Scott, Denver Colorado
Dear Fellow Scotts,
I am Donald Scott. I am the sixth generation of my families line to the Americas and direct decendent of The Royal Scotts of Bucceluch and Queensbury. I just wanted to give an AMO and Bellendaine to my fellow kinsmen. I just found the site and find it inspiring.

12/6/04 From Mary, Los Angeles California:

Hello!
Guess it is early for the invitations to our St David's Day at the LA Welsh Chapel, February 20th but just in time to save another Welsh-challenged soul! Actually I think there is a lot for all the Celts to learn about one another. Only this weekend I learned that in addition to the big three, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, there are four other Celtic countries, all with their own patron saints, flags, languages, specialty foods, and even governments. They are Brittany (Breton), Cornwall, Galicia (north of Portugal), and Isle of Man...There is even a relatively new organization in San Diego dedicated to all...
Anyway, St David was born in southwest Wales around the year 522 (some say 20 years later), the son of King Sant and Saint Non of South Wales;
grandson of Ceredig, Prince of Cardigan; Uncle of King Arthur.
Well, now you know more about St David than most people do! We subscribe, of course, to the history that says that St. Patrick was born in the Welsh community that once flourished in the southwest corner of what is now Scotland. Seems only right to have an all-Celtic celebration at the Welsh Chapel.

Hello
I have enjoyed looking at your site. I live in the beautiful Scottish Borders and find it very interesting that Clan Scott is so organised in the U.S. My husband's family are native to the area around Kelso and we live in Kelso, which is a lovely small burgh in the district of Roxburgh.
best wishes
